Tommye R. Finley Scholarship & Diane M. Roberts Scholarship
The Pi Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is an organization of African-American women who are dedicated to promoting academic excellence and professional growth. In support of this commitment, four scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors from the Richmond Metropolitan area.
Applicant Requirements:
 African-American female
High School Senior
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Attend a high school in the greater Richmond Metropolitan area
(Richmond, Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield)
Scholarship Descriptions & Essay Requirements:
You must indicate which scholarship(s) you are applying for on the application. While you may apply for both scholarships, only one will be awarded per person. Essays must be typed, double-spaced and contain approximately 300 words.
Two Tommye R. Finley scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence.
Essay topic: Describe a current issue relevant to African-American women.
Two Diane M. Roberts scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded based on financial need.
Essay topic: Describe your need for financial assistance.
